re: List of Lotro Raids and instances

0
Hi guys,
After a discussion amongst officers, I am putting this together as a guide to those kinnies that are new to raiding and grouping to educate everyone as to what the main raids are that we tend to do in kin and what are the general requirements to partake in them. This does not include any of the 3 man content or Moors Raids.

Ost Dunhoth (OD) – Lvl 65. 12 man instance
One of the new raids, everyone wants to do this to get the new gear drops plus first age symbols. Comes in two modes, Tier 1 and Tier 2. While T1 is hard, it is very achievable with the right group. Loot drops are average and not extremely small chance of symbols dropping. T2 is much more difficult and changes each fight. Each boss has a challenge mode as well for extra difficulty. Killing a boss in challenge mode will drop 2 chests, 1 if challenge mode failed. If challenge mode is beaten you will always get a first age token. There are 4 wings (Wound, Fear, Disease, Poison) each with a boss and 2 final bosses.
We will normally be doing 2 runs of this each week. A T1 group which will be used to teach people the instance. The T2 run is being run from the group of players that have shown that their characters are advanced enough that they can manage the instance as well as well as having shown they are capable from previous raid groups.

Barad Guldur (BG) - Lvl 65. 12 Man instance
BG is made up of 3 boss fights, each of which has a challenge mode which will drop an extra chest if defeated. The boss fights are Durchest, the Twins and the Lieutenant. This is a difficult yet fun raid and was the most difficult raid available before OD was released. People typically want to run this in challenge mode for some of the loot drops as well as the armour pieces.

Sammath Gul (SG) – Lvl 65. 6 Man instance
SG is a great instance for people to learn some of the raid mechanics used in some of the bigger raids as well as learning team work and communication. A good group can run this in well under an hour. A few good loot drops can be found here.

Glacier Fortress (Forochel) – Lvl 65. 6 Man instance
The new forochel instance again can be run in Tier 1 or Tier 2 mode with the last 2 bosses having a challenge mode in T2. Fun instance to run and has some useful item drops. T2 can be challenging and helps to well equipped characters.

Lost Temple – Lvl 65. 6 man instance
Another raid that has a Tier 1 and Tier 2 option with the bosses having a challenge mode associated with them. Some good drops. A very challenging instance in T2 and require a group to work well together as well as having well equipped characters.

Dar Narbugud (DN) – Lvl 60. 12 Man instance
DN still has some fantastic armour and jewellery drops for some classes. A very fun instance to run that has 6 bosses. A typical run can take 3-6 hours to complete depending on the levels of experience of the players.

Great Barrows (GB) – Varied lvl. 6 man skirmish
Made of 3 different instances, GB is typically run to help players get superior skirmish marks as well as skirmish marks. The superior marks only drop from the challenge mode in each boss.

Helegrod – Lvl50/65. 12 0r 24 man instance
Helegrod is one of the oldest raids in the game and with recent updates can still be fun and challenging. Typically raids are undertaken to get Hele tokens which are used to get new armour pieces. There are 3 wings (giant, spider and drake) which are 12 man instance. Once each of these have been completed the final 24 man Dragon instance is available.

Annuminas – lvl 50/65. 6 man instances
This is actually 3 different older instances that got updated recently. Some classes will want to run these for the armour tokens that drop.
Carn Dum/Uruguath – Lvl 50. 6 Man instance
These are the original 2 main end game raids that were launched with the game. Lots of fun. They are still needed by every character in order to get their lvl 45 quest items for their legendary skills.

There are other raids that we no longer do much, but could be fun to organise if people are interested.
Garth Agarwan – Lvl 30-35. 6 man instance.
This is one of the earliest raids available to players. It is located in the NE area of the Lone Lands. It can be very challenging for inexperienced players. I love it.
Fornost – lvl 35 – 42. 6 man instance
This raid is located in the NW area of the North Downs. Not many people bother to run this, which is unfortunate as I believe it is a fun challenge for lower level players to try out.
Bogbereth – lvl 50. 12 man encounter
This is a raid encounter at the end of a quest chain. Fun to test early level raid fights on a big boss.
Ferndur – Lvl 50. 24 man encounter
This is a raid encounter in Imlad Balchorth as part of a quest chain. Fun to test early level raid fights on a big boss.
Barad Gularan (old BG) - Lvl 50. 6 man instance
The other original end game raid. This was a lot of fun but people didn’t run it as much as it was difficult and the loot was better from Carn Dum and Uru.
Filikul (Turtle) – Lvl 60. 12 man instance
The turtle run is one of the quickest and easiest runs to do. No adds, only the turtle. Not many people bother anymore as the loot drops are substandard to many other runs. But I still good for lvl 60 first ages.
Moria Armor Instances – lvl 60. 6 man instance
These are a bunch of 6 man instances that are always run for armour pieces and class quests.
The Vile Maw (Watcher) – lvl 60. 12 man instance
The watcher is a fun instance and is required to complete the moria armour sets.
Halls of Crafting – lvl 60. 6 Man instance
Run that has some good item drops.
The Rift of Nurz Ghashu (Rift) – lvl 50. 12 man instance
Long and fun instance with multiple bosses and some good drops for that level. A very challenging instance.

Feel free to provide more detail if you'd like and I'll update.
