re: RoR what you may need to know.
by Andismak on 2012/08/26 7:37 pm
Hi hi all now the NDA has been lifted we are hoping out Beta players will give a the rundown on RoR.
What we have gathered so far will appear here hopefully and we can get ourselves prepared.
Please keep in mind that things may change from beta to the release so those giving us information here may have it chnged on them. Everyone keep that in mind and prepare for ROR .
Just a few whispers I have heard
1/. You will need silver to help paying for the new skills and horse skills.
2/. The next level of crafting to be guilded will take 60,000 of guild tokens so start saving up.
3/. To make the level 9 relics you will need a lot of shards 9,000 is the figure we have heard so work on getting shards together. There are a lot of complaints about this and it may change.
Add away people and lets keep our kinnies informed.

re: Save medallions and seals as well

It might be a good idea to start saving as many medallions and seals as you can as well, NOT FOR GETTING ARMOUR ( it is still unknown what kind of currency, if any, will be used to get the end game armor coming on december with the new raid cluster) but for getting the L85 empowerment and delving scrolls, namely "Riddermark Empowerment Scrolls".
Here's a screenshot on which you can see for yourself how did the costs in meds and seals look like in the latests build:
http://s14.directupload.net/file/d/2987/y6zzn2z5_png.htm
The short version is:
Riddermark Scroll of Empowerment : 5328 marks /942 medallions ... OR .......1076 meds / 275 seals
Riddermark Scroll of Delving: 3552 marks / 337 meds
All of this is subject to change of course.
About that screenshot, you may have noticed that the L75 scroll of empowerment went up in price as well . This is a bug and a dev already posted on the beta forum that it will be fixed on the next build, as the L75 stuff shouldn't change in price. But now you know around how much will the L85 stuff cost.

Hello everyone if you have not seen it yet here is a link to the new armor sets, jewelry, weapons and relics that the beta testers have posted.
http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?475977-Pictures-of-gear-etc.
These armor sets would be similar to the Galtrev gear when Isen was released, you could say it's the starter gear for Rohan. But unlike the Galtrev gear where you spent seals and medallions to purchase in Rohan you will earn most of this gear by doing a quest chain that involves rebuilding a town. It's a pretty good business decision by Turbine, one of the few, which will allow the solo player to get some pretty decent gear without having to run group content. For the rest of us we can work on the gear at our own pace again without depending on group content. There has been no mention of the end game/raiding but there has been some talk from the beta testers that raid gear will again be purchased by some form similar to seal and medallions. Please take a look at some of the armor sets and the bonuses some of you will be pleasantly surprised at the changes. Unfortunately no pictures of the new Hunter or Warden armor kits. Maybe with the next beta test we will get a look. I need to mention all of this is subject.
Also look at the cost of the new relics. The beta testers have been giving the Devs an earful on how expensive these have become. In case they do not adjust the amount of shards needed you do have some time to start accumulating over the next few weeks.
When Rohan does go live make sure your trainer is the first thing you do for any changes. From what I've been reading you will be spending, I've read anything from 30% to 40%, learning how to do mounted combat. Mounted combat is not mandatory but from what the beta testers are saying the higher level war bands will simply run you over if you're on foot. As with anything new give it time to adjust there will be new skills both combat and maneuvering your war stead to learn. Hunters have been loving mounted combat where others classes are struggling at bit. Thanks

I would just like to say Thanks to all the officers and members that are contributing information and advice for RoR. I don't have enough time for the game atm, and all of the these posts are really a Big Help for me.

This is in one of the links above but I thought I would paste it here for quick access.
The following task items may be turned in to Rohan task boards:
Decorative Sword Sheaths
Punctured Shields
Speckled Ears
Marked Furs
Blotchy Skins
When RoR is released, you may either turn in your stockpiles or sell them to other players at an inflated value compared to live.
When leveling in Rohan, also keep Stubby Beaks, Weathered Beaks, Split Branches, Tinted Carapaces, Contorted Ears, Fetid Filth, Silky Fur, Unkempt Fur, Sharp Sales, Shattered Clubs, Ripped Cloaks, Stained Skins, Tarnished Sword Sheaths, Ornate Sword Sheaths, Fuzzy Wings, and Bent Wings.
Rohan tasks grant XP, IXP, and MXP (Mount XP), but not reputation as other tasks do. xRaina has gone on record to state, “The tasks in Rohan will not grant reputation. This was a design decision, as Hytbold is intended to be a major source of reputation gain.”

Also bear in mind that ALL task items will be turned in in stack of 10. No more 4, 8 and 15. The exception to this is Stangard Limlight, still 1 and 3.

re: Hytbold: A Guide to Rebuilding and Armor
by Cabre on 2012/10/14 11:05 am
Here is an excellent thread on Hytbold: A Guide to Rebuilding and Armor. A step by step guide on what to do once you hit level 84 rebuilding Hytbold. Please be advised this is a spoiler so if you like to discover this on your own do not go any further. But this will take out allot of the initial confusion about what to do which quest to get and how to go about rebuilding Hytbold. This link if family work safe.
